Coin collectors and Anne of Green Gables fans, this is something really special - the 2024 Canada $1 coin celebrating the 150th anniversary of L.M. Montgomery's birth! This isn't just any circulation coin - it's the first time Canada has featured an author on their currency, and it's beautifully colourized to make it even more distinctive. The design pays tribute to the creator of one of Canada's most beloved literary characters, Anne Shirley. What makes this even more exciting is the extremely limited availability - only 15,000 rolls were produced, so these won't be around for long. The coins come in special wrap rolls, making them perfect for collectors who want to preserve them in mint condition. The colouration adds visual appeal that really makes the design pop, much more striking than regular circulation coins. Whether you're a numismatist building your collection, a literature enthusiast, or someone with connections to Prince Edward Island, this coin has significant cultural and collectible value. It's also a fantastic gift for anyone who loves Canadian history or classic literature. The timing is perfect too - 2024 marks exactly 150 years since Montgomery's birth, making this anniversary edition particularly meaningful. Given the low mintage numbers, these are likely to appreciate in value over time, especially if kept in their original wrap rolls. Don't wait too long if you're interested - limited editions like this tend to sell out quickly and become much more expensive on the secondary market. A beautiful piece of Canadian cultural history that's also a smart collectible investment!
