Chess players, this Staunton No. 6 set is the real deal! These aren't your cheap plastic pieces - they're handcrafted in Poland from hornbeam wood with that classic Staunton design that serious players prefer. The king stands at 3.9 inches tall (about 9.9 cm) with the queen at 3.25 inches and pawns at 1.8 inches - perfect proportions for tournament play or home games. Each piece has a felt bottom that protects your board and allows for smooth sliding during moves. The craftsmanship is incredible - you can feel the quality when you handle these pieces. They come in a beautiful wooden storage box made from beech and birch that measures about 8.27 x 3.03 x 5.51 inches, keeping everything organized and protected when you're not playing. Whether you're upgrading from a basic set, need proper pieces for tournaments, or want a classic set that'll last for generations, this Staunton set delivers. There's something special about playing with wooden pieces that just feels right - the weight, the feel, the sound they make when you capture a piece. It's one of those purchases that serious chess enthusiasts never regret!
