Pythagoras Fair Cup - Handpainted Acropolis & Owl Of Wisdom Ceramic Cup

History buffs, math enthusiasts, and collectors, this Pythagoras Fair Cup is such a fascinating and unique piece! This isn't just any drinking cup - it's a working replica of the famous 'greedy cup' invented by Pythagoras around 530 BC. Here's how the clever mechanism works: you can fill it up to a certain line and drink normally, but if you get greedy and fill it past that mark, the entire contents drain out through a hole in the bottom! It's both a practical joke and a lesson in moderation that's been fascinating people for over 2,500 years. This particular version is handmade in Greece and features beautiful hand-painted artwork showing the Acropolis of Athens and the owl of wisdom (symbol of Goddess Athena). The ceramic construction feels substantial and well-made, standing about 4.5 inches tall and weighing around 300 grams. It makes an incredible conversation piece for your home, office, or classroom - perfect for demonstrating principles of physics and mathematics in a fun, interactive way. It's also a beautiful decorative object when not in use, with the detailed Greek artwork adding cultural and historical significance. Whether you're a teacher looking for an engaging demonstration tool, a collector of unique historical replicas, or just someone who appreciates clever design and Greek history, this cup delivers both functionality and fascinating storytelling. It's one of those rare items that's equally at home in a serious collection, a mathematics classroom, or as a fun party trick that never fails to amaze and entertain guests.
