So if you're looking for a solid small animal cage that's actually spacious and well-designed, this Prevue Pet Products Universal Home is definitely worth checking out. The #5528 model is seriously roomy - it measures 32.5\ long by 19\ wide by 23\ high, giving your little furry friend plenty of space to move around. The wire spacing is 3/8\, which is tight enough to safely contain hedgehogs, hamsters, gerbils, mice, and even rats without them squeezing through. The base is 6\ deep with rounded edges, which helps contain bedding and messes while making cleaning easier. It comes with two large plastic platforms (each 18\x12.25\) and two sturdy ramps (14.5\x4.5\) that your pet can climb on for exercise and exploration. There are two big doors for access - one on the front and one on top, both measuring about 12.625\x9.25\ - so you can easily reach inside for cleaning or interacting with your pet. The doors secure with wire latches that feel reliable. The whole cage is lightweight enough to move around when needed, and it's got integrated carrying handles which is super convenient. Assembly is straightforward with a clip-together design and six base clips holding everything securely. Prevue designs their cages in the USA and does independent safety testing, so you know you're getting a quality product. Whether you're setting up a new home for a pet or upgrading from a smaller enclosure, this cage provides a comfortable, secure environment that both you and your small animal will appreciate.
