If you've invested in good leather boots or gear, you need this SNO-Seal stuff. It's made from pure beeswax and works completely differently from those oily waterproofers that just clog up the leather. This stuff actually stays on the surface where it belongs, protecting your leather without messing up its natural breathability. I used it on my hiking boots before a rainy season trip, and my feet stayed completely dry while my friend's 'waterproofed' boots were soaked through. What's really cool is that it doesn't interfere with Gore-Tex liners either - the moisture can still escape from inside while rain and snow stay outside. The application is easy - just warm the leather slightly, rub it in, let it dry. It keeps leather flexible even in freezing temperatures, which is huge if you're winter hiking. Unlike animal fat products that can actually rot leather over time, this preserves it. Seriously, this small tin has saved me from buying new boots for two seasons now. Well worth the investment if you want your leather stuff to last for years.
