Kovend 12 Inch Wood Chess Set - Staunton Pieces With Inlaid Board & Checkers

This Kovend chess set is absolutely beautiful - the kind of set that makes you want to play chess more often just to admire the pieces. The 11.5 inch solid wood board has this gorgeous inlaid pattern that looks so classic and elegant. When closed, it measures 11.5x5.7x2 inches, making it compact enough to store easily but substantial enough to feel quality. The Staunton-style chess pieces are handcrafted and finely detailed - the king stands at 2.7 inches tall, with the queen at 2.38 inches, bishop at 2 inches, knight at 1.5 inches, rook at 1.38 inches, and pawns at 1.15 inches. What's really cool is that it comes with extra queens for pawn promotion (so handy!) and even includes checkers pieces so you get two classic games in one set. The storage compartment inside the board keeps all the pieces organized and protected when you're not playing. The craftsmanship is impressive - you can tell this isn't some mass-produced cheap set. The wood has a nice weight to it, and the pieces feel substantial in your hand. Whether you're a serious chess player or just enjoy the occasional game, this set makes the experience so much more enjoyable. It's perfect for coffee tables, game rooms, or even as a decorative piece when not in use. The included gift box makes it presentation-ready if you're buying it as a present for someone. Seriously, if you appreciate quality game sets and classic design, this chess set delivers both beauty and functionality in one beautiful package.
