Anglers looking for the ultimate lightweight setup, this Daiwa Tierra AIR IC reel is seriously impressive. Weighing just 6.5 ounces (165 grams), it's so light you'll barely notice it on your rod, which is perfect when you're making hundreds of casts in a day. The ZAION frame and side plates provide rigidity without adding weight, while the HYPERDRIVE DESIGN ensures smooth, efficient rotation performance. What's really smart is the new spool shape that prevents thread gumming - a common problem when using thin PE lines that can ruin your day. The gear ratio gives you 66cm of line retrieval per turn, which is plenty for most fishing situations, and the 11-pound drag provides solid stopping power when you hook into something decent. The bearing system (6 ball bearings plus 1 roller bearing) ensures smooth operation, and the 110mm handle length gives you good leverage. But here's the cool part - when paired with lightweight rods like the Emerald or Moon Beauty models, you can achieve a total setup weight of just 7.1 ounces! That incredible lightness translates directly to better sensitivity and maneuverability, allowing you to feel every bite and focus completely on your interaction with the fish. The line capacity handles 0.6-200, 0.8-120, or 1.0-100 PE lines, giving you flexibility for different fishing situations. Whether you're ice fishing, finesse fishing, or any situation where lightweight gear makes a difference, this reel delivers that premium performance that serious anglers appreciate.
