These magnetic sensors are the backbone of any good DIY security system. You get 5 complete sets in this pack - each includes both the magnet and the sensor unit with cable already attached. The recessed installation design means they sit flush with your door or window frame for a clean, professional look that's less obvious to potential intruders. The model RC-36 sensors feature both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) contacts, giving you flexibility in how you wire them into your alarm system. They work by creating a magnetic field between the two parts - when the door or window is closed, the circuit is one state; when opened, the magnetic field separation triggers the alarm. The actuation distance is about 15-20mm, which is plenty for most residential doors and windows. Important note: these are low-voltage signal devices only - they can't directly power lights or high-current devices, they're designed specifically to send signals to alarm control panels. The brown color blends well with most wood finishes, and the ABS housing is durable for long-term use. Installation is straightforward - you'll need to chisel out a small recess in your door/window and frame, then screw the units into place. The wiring is simple with white as common, red for Normally Open, and gray for Normally Closed. Perfect for securing your home, garage, shed, or business without the cost of professional monitoring services. They work with most standard alarm systems and are reliable enough for professional use but affordable enough for DIY home security. The 5-pack gives you enough to secure multiple entry points throughout your home. Definitely one of those home security upgrades that provides real protection without breaking the bank.
