Okay, if you remember playing Worms on computer back in the day, you're going to love this board game version. It's the same hilarious strategy and chaos but now on your tabletop for up to 6 players. The Collector's Edition comes packed with stuff - 16 worm miniatures, crate/mine/oil drum miniatures, multi-hex map tiles, water hexes, wind dial, danger flipper, over 80 cards, counters, and 5 custom dice. The gameplay is surprisingly true to the video game: you move your worms around destructible landscapes, collect crates for weapons, and try to wipe out the other teams with classic weapons like exploding sheep and bananas. What's cool is how they've translated the video game mechanics to tabletop - there's wind direction that affects your shots, accuracy that decreases with range, and different terrain types including water where things sink if they land there. Each turn you can inch or jump your worm around, play weapon cards, and try to outsmart your opponents. The game usually takes about 45 minutes and it's recommended for ages 10 and up. The components are really well made and the whole thing just captures that Worms humor perfectly. Whether you're playing with family or friends, there's always lots of laughing and 'oh no you didn't!' moments. It's one of those games that's easy to learn but has enough strategy to keep things interesting game after game. If you like tabletop games with a good mix of strategy and pure chaos, this is definitely worth checking out.
