This Waypoint Geographic Lyon floor globe is seriously impressive - it's not just a decorative piece but actually super functional too! The 15-inch globe features physical earth landmass shading with blue ocean styling and thousands of up-to-date geographic references, borders, and topographical features. But here's the cool part: it illuminates! When you turn it on, the internal light makes all the cartographic details pop and reveals some features you can't even see when it's off. The stand is this beautiful single-post wood design with a multi-directional meridian that lets you rotate the globe left/right AND tilt it up/down for the perfect viewing angle. No more craning your neck to see different parts of the world! The cord comes out near the south pole connection and has an inline switch for easy on/off control. Changing the light bulb is straightforward too (instructions included). When fully assembled, this thing stands at an impressive 43.7 inches tall by 16.5 inches wide by 15 inches deep - it makes a statement in any room. Whether you're identifying travel destinations, following current events, or just admiring the craftsmanship, this globe is both educational and beautiful. It's perfect for home offices, libraries, living rooms, or any space that could use a touch of sophistication and curiosity. The clear, easy-to-read cartography means you can actually use this globe, not just look at it. It's one of those pieces that sparks conversation and makes learning about our world more engaging. If you've been wanting a quality globe that's both functional and decorative, this Lyon model definitely delivers!
