Okay, I'll admit it - I bought this Le Creuset spoon rest mostly because of the gorgeous cerise red color, but it's turned out to be one of my most-used kitchen items! That iconic red just makes me happy every time I see it on my counter, and it coordinates perfectly with my other Le Creuset pieces.
The 6-inch size is perfect - big enough to hold serving spoons and ladles without them hanging over the edge, but not so huge that it takes up valuable counter space. The stoneware feels substantial and high-quality, not like those cheap plastic ones that stain and warp after a few uses.
What's really impressive is how easy it is to clean. The nonporous glaze means nothing stains it - I've had tomato sauce, curry, you name it on there, and it wipes clean effortlessly. It's dishwasher safe too, which is huge for busy cooks. After months of daily use, it still looks brand new - no chips, scratches, or fading.
It's not just for spoons either - I use it for spatulas, whisks, basically any utensil I'm using while cooking. The slight lip around the edge contains drips perfectly. For something so simple, it's made my cooking process so much more organized and my counters so much cleaner. Definitely one of those 'why didn't I get this sooner' kitchen items!
