Ampersand Art Supply Scratchbord 6 Color Ink Set - For Scratchboard Art

Hey artists! If you work with scratchboard or claybord, this Ampersand 6-color ink set is about to revolutionize your artwork. This isn't regular ink – it's specially formulated for scratchboard techniques, meaning it leaves vibrant color only in the white areas of your drawings and can easily be scratched through later to add fine details and highlights. The set includes six half-ounce bottles in essential colors: Carmine Red, Yellow, Light Green, Ultramarine Blue, Sepia, and Black Repair ink. What makes these inks so special? They're transparent, pigmented, permanent, and water-based with a bit of shellac to prevent dissolving – but unlike other inks, they don't leave heavy residue on the black surface that's difficult to scratch through. You can use them full strength or mix them like paint to create your own custom color palette. The process is super satisfying – you build up color in diluted washes following your drawing's directional lines, then use the Black Repair ink for final touch-ups around edges. Once your color is set, you go back and scratch out highlights to give your artwork incredible dimension and volume. The results are dramatic and professional-looking, with colors that pop against the black background. Whether you're creating detailed animal portraits, abstract designs, or anything in between, these inks give you control and versatility that regular markers or paints can't match. They work beautifully on Ampersand Scratchbord, Claybord, and other paper scratchboards. If you've been frustrated with other coloring methods for your scratch art, this set is definitely worth trying – it might just become your new favorite medium for creating stunning, gallery-worthy pieces!
