Mountain bikers and cycling enthusiasts, if you ride a Specialized bike, having a spare derailleur hanger is absolutely essential! This CNC-machined 6061 aluminum alloy hanger (compatible with Specialized part #989-4265) is designed specifically for models like BigHit, Enduro, Hardrock, Rockhopper, and many others from the late 90s to mid-2000s. The black anodized finish looks sharp and provides corrosion resistance, while the precise machining ensures perfect shifting performance. Why do you need this? Because derailleur hangers are designed to be the 'sacrificial' part that breaks first in a crash, saving your expensive derailleur and frame from damage. Having a spare means you're not stuck waiting for parts when you bend or break one on the trails. Installation is straightforward with the included mounting screws, but definitely check your rear dropouts for alignment first to prevent future issues. The quality is seriously good - stiff enough for crisp gear changes but still performing its safety role properly. Whether you're a weekend warrior or serious rider, this is one of those cheap insurance policies that can save your ride. Keep one in your toolkit or garage, because when you need a derailleur hanger, you really need it! The compatibility list is extensive, so double-check your specific model year to be sure, but this hanger fits a huge range of popular Specialized mountain bikes.
