Mapei Mapeheat Uncoupling Membrane - 9 Sq Ft Underlayment For Radiant Heating

For anyone installing radiant floor heating, this Mapei Mapeheat membrane is absolutely essential for a professional-quality result! The 9 square foot sheets are 7/32 inch thick and provide uncoupling, crack isolation, AND waterproofing all in one product. It's specifically designed for use with in-floor heating cables - the rounded square reliefs hold the cables securely in place while the thin profile works perfectly for remodeling over existing floors. The membrane helps prevent substrate cracks up to 1/8 inch from transferring to your tile or stone flooring, which is crucial for long-term durability. What's really convenient is you can apply tile thinset mortar directly over the heating cables once they're set in the membrane - no waiting for additional layers or complicated steps. It's suitable for wet areas like bathrooms, showers, and laundry rooms, providing vapor management and load support. The polypropylene construction is lightweight yet durable, with minimal roll memory that makes installation faster and easier. It carries an 'Extra Heavy' service rating per ASTM C627, so you know it can handle demanding residential use. Whether you're a DIY homeowner tackling a bathroom remodel or a professional installer working on a custom project, this membrane simplifies the radiant heating installation process significantly. The 9 sq ft sheet size is perfect for smaller projects or for cutting to fit specific areas. Seriously, if you want your heated floor installation to last for years without cracks or problems, this Mapeheat membrane is totally worth using. It's one of those building products that provides peace of mind knowing your installation is done right.
