About this item

This Ellisse peg hammer is seriously well-made! Crafted in Japan's Niigata Prefecture where they know metalworking. The 'St.Martelo' name means 'holy hammer' in Portuguese, which is pretty cool. The hammer head is made from S55C steel that's been forge-quenched for incredible strength - we're talking heated to 1100°C and crushed under tons of pressure. The finish is either chrome plated for shine or cationic electrodeposition coated for rust resistance that lasts over 1000 hours in salt spray tests. You get two head options - brass that develops a nice patina over time, or stainless steel that won't rust. The oak handle has a beautiful curved shape that feels natural in your hand. At about 19.4 ounces (550g), it's heavy enough to drive tent stakes easily but not too bulky to pack. Measures roughly 11.9x4.0x1.37 inches. Perfect for camping, hiking, or any outdoor activity where you need to secure tents, tarps, or stakes. The quality is immediately noticeable - this isn't some cheap hardware store hammer. If you appreciate well-crafted tools that will last a lifetime, this hammer is absolutely worth it. The Japanese craftsmanship really shows in every detail.
