Chess enthusiasts and history buffs, this Ottoman vs Byzantine chess set is absolutely breathtaking! The metal pieces are handmade in Turkey using zinc alloy (zamak) with special coatings that give them this incredible antique finish. Each piece represents actual historical figures from the Ottoman-Byzantine conflict - the kings stand 7cm tall and weigh 100 grams, feeling substantial and important in your hand. The solid walnut chess board measures 15x15 inches with a 10.6x10.6 inch playing area, and the craftsmanship is just stunning. Those pearl motifs around the border? All handcrafted - no cheap printing here. The board is polished using traditional methods with cotton, giving it that gorgeous old-world charm. What's really practical is the hidden storage compartment that perfectly fits all the pieces when you're not playing. The plastic housing keeps everything organized and protected. This isn't just a game - it's a conversation piece, a work of art, and a potential family heirloom that could last generations. The weight and balance of each piece makes moving them during gameplay feel satisfyingly precise. Whether you're an experienced chess player or someone who appreciates beautiful craftsmanship, this set delivers on both aesthetics and functionality. It comes with a special carrier bag too, making it perfect for taking to chess clubs or displaying proudly in your home. The historical theme adds such a cool educational element that makes playing even more engaging.
